Alhambra: Day vs. Night

Alhambra Mirador San Nicolás
The Alhambra is one of the most magnificent sights in all of Spain. Originally built in 889 as a small fortress, the Alhambra has since been renovated into a grand repository of Moorish history. The site is so popular that in order to see it, you need to purchase tickets in advance.

Visitors have the option of buying tickets for admission during the day or at night. While some might choose one or the other, I decided to do both for the full experience.

The Nasrid Palaces in the morning light are spectacular, but in the evening the palaces are thoughtfully illuminated for added romance and atmosphere. For those trying to decide when to go, below are the photographs I took for comparison. You can’t go wrong with either, and like me, maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see both.
